CEDAR CREEK, TX — Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church welcomed women, families, church leaders, and guests for its Mission Brunch on June 6 at 10 a.m., where the theme of the morning was clear: faith still carries, strengthens, and keeps those who believe.

Hosted at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Rev. Jermaine Davis-Green, the Ladies in Red Mission Brunch was themed, “Blessed, She Believed: Faith Beyond Fear,” inspired by Luke 1:45: “Blessed is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill his promise to her.”

The program opened with praise and worship, followed by scripture from Sister Sharmaine Henry and prayer from Sister Doreen Barlow. Sister Angel Green served as mistress of ceremony, guiding the morning with warmth and gratitude.

Sister Regina Bates offered a heartfelt welcome, reminding those in attendance that Mt. Olive is a place where people are not only invited in but truly received. Speaking honestly about pain, perseverance, and the need to press forward in faith, she encouraged guests to allow the Spirit to move freely.

The morning message was delivered by Sister Clyde Drew of Christway Temple Full Gospel Baptist Church in Brenham. Introduced by Sister Lily Mae Davis, First Lady of Christway Temple, Drew preached from Luke 1:45, reflecting on the faith of Mary and Elizabeth and reminding the women present that God keeps His promises.

Her message emphasized faith, truth, belief, obedience, and trust in God’s timing. She reminded the congregation that blessings come not through outward appearance, titles, or performance, but through a heart willing to believe and serve.

Throughout the message, Drew called the church back to sincerity, humility, and reverence for God’s house. She urged believers to be still, trust God’s word, and remember that the same God who made a way before is still able to make a way again.

The service also included congregational singing, personal testimonies, offering, expressions from visiting churches, and words of gratitude from Sister Shirley Haywood, president of the Missionary Society. Guests represented churches from Bastrop, Austin, Smithville, Brenham, and surrounding communities.

The morning closed with prayer, thanksgiving, and fellowship as the women in red continued the spirit of worship beyond the sanctuary.

For those gathered, the brunch was more than a program. It was a reminder that faith is not passive. It is lived through pain, carried through uncertainty, strengthened in community, and proven in obedience. At Mt. Olive, the women in red stood as witnesses that blessed is she who believes.
