Broken Glass Comes to the Stage: A Powerful Story of Truth, Trauma, and Healing
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A powerful and deeply moving stage production is set to take the spotlight this June, inviting audiences into a story many will recognize—but few openly discuss.
Broken Glass (Revised), written by educator and playwright Jahi Osaze, will take the stage on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the Highlands High School Auditorium. Presented by Cries From The Womb Entertainment, the production explores the lasting impact of unresolved childhood trauma and the generational silence that often surrounds it.
At its core, Broken Glass is a story about family—about what is said, what is withheld, and what eventually demands to be faced. Through intense dialogue and emotional turning points, the play reveals how buried truths shape relationships across generations.
“Some secrets can destroy you.”
“Trauma doesn’t disappear—it waits.”
These guiding themes frame a narrative that is both gripping and necessary, challenging audiences to confront the realities of mental health, healing, and accountability.
More than entertainment, Broken Glass serves as a cultural and educational experience. It brings to light issues often left unspoken:
The long-term effects of childhood trauma
The role of silence within families
The importance of emotional and psychological healing
The need for open, honest dialogue within communities
The production aims to do more than tell a story—it seeks to spark conversation.
A standout feature of this production is the involvement of students from Liberation Academy and Zachry Middle School, who contribute their voices and talents to the performance. Their participation underscores the importance of creative expression as a tool for understanding identity, building self-esteem, and processing lived experiences.
This intergenerational collaboration reflects the very message of the play: healing begins when truth is acknowledged and shared.
